The addresses on Jefferson Avenue are close together. El Cazador is at 104 North Jefferson, Home Again at 108, Crooked D Creamery at 110 and Tipsy Turtle at 112. Across the courthouse, Sylvia's Coffee sits at 111 South Jefferson and Saving Grace at 113. The Putnam County Courthouse Lawn holds the corner at 100 South Jefferson.
The first two holiday Saturdays in November happen on that one block, a week apart, and they use it in different ways. On Nov. 7 the event is inside the storefronts, and you move from door to door. On Nov. 14 it's on the lawn, along with one gallery on Marion Street, and everything runs on the same 10-to-3 schedule. Nov. 7 rewards a slow loop of doors; Nov. 14 rewards getting to the lawn and the gallery before 3 p.m.
Nov. 6 and 7: the storefronts set the pace
The season starts with the Downtown Eatonton Holiday Open House, which runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visit Eatonton's events calendar lists it for Friday, Nov. 6, and its event page describes seasonal shopping, local businesses and holiday activities, centered at 103 South Jefferson Avenue. Lake Sinclair Life's listing runs it across both days, Nov. 6 and 7, with the same hours, decorated streets and special promotions. Friday is the date both calendars agree on. If Saturday is your only free day, call your favorite shop before you count on open-house pricing.
Saturday brings a more structured event. Sip, Shop, & Shoebox! runs Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eight downtown businesses are taking part, and the day benefits Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan's Purse that sends shoebox gifts to children around the world. The shops will be decorated for Christmas, and each participating business is offering its own thank-you to customers who donate.
These are the eight businesses, with addresses from the Eatonton Main Street directories:
| Stop | Address | Kind of stop |
|---|---|---|
| El Cazador Mexican Restaurant | 104 N. Jefferson Ave. | Lunch |
| Home Again | 108 N. Jefferson Ave. | Shop |
| Crooked D Creamery | 110 N. Jefferson Ave. | Treat |
| Tipsy Turtle Bar & Grill | 112 N. Jefferson Ave. | Food and drinks |
| Sylvia's Coffee | 111 S. Jefferson Ave. | Coffee |
| The Saving Grace Shop | 113 S. Jefferson Ave. | Shop |
| Taylor Flowers & Gifts | 124 W. Marion St. | Flowers and gifts |
| The Welcome Rack | Downtown Eatonton | Shop |
Saving Grace is listed as the organizer. The list explains the "Sip" in the name. Coffee, ice cream, lunch and a bar and grill take up half the spots, so you can spend the day going between shopping stops and food stops without leaving the blocks around the courthouse.
What the shoebox part asks of you
The giving works best if you settle it before you leave home. The event listing offers three ways to take part at any participating business:
- Donate an item. Bring a new, approved gift item to help fill an Operation Christmas Child shoebox.
- Donate money. Make a contribution to the shoebox project.
- Pack a shoebox. Bring a finished Operation Christmas Child shoebox and drop it off.
Each participating business will have information on suggested gifts, how to pack a box and which items aren't allowed. So the easy order is to start at one of the eight, pick up the guidance, buy what you need along the route and drop off a donation at your last stop. Since every shop has its own thank-you, your choice of last stop matters a little more than usual.
This is why Nov. 7 is a walking day. The event only works when people move between doors, and the eight doors are all within a few blocks.
Nov. 14: the block moves onto the lawn
A week later, the activity shifts outdoors. The Eatonton Mistletoe Market runs Saturday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Courthouse Lawn. Eatonton Main Street lists more than 100 arts-and-crafts vendors, handmade gifts and live art demonstrations. Visit Eatonton gives the address as 100 South Jefferson Avenue.
The 2026 listings don't cover parking, food or street closures. Before you go, check the Main Street event page and plan to arrive early, as you would for any courthouse-lawn event that draws a crowd.
Around the corner, the Artisans Village Art Gallery, at 110 West Marion Street, opens Gifts from the heART, its holiday market and fine art sale, that same Saturday. Visit Eatonton's listing shows the opening market running 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the same hours as the Mistletoe Market. The show is a group exhibit of locally made paintings, ceramics, jewelry, textiles and other handmade gifts. The gallery says it runs from November through December. Artist demonstrations will be announced later.
That changes how you plan the day. The lawn market ends at 3 p.m., so its timing is fixed. Gifts from the heART stays up into December, so the gallery is the one stop that holds up if you run out of time on the 14th. With 100-plus booths, the lawn takes up most of the morning. If you'd like the gallery quieter, you can come back on a weekday later in the season.
Marion Street connects the two Saturdays
On a map, the two weekends overlap on West Marion Street. Taylor Flowers & Gifts, at 124 W. Marion, is one of the eight Sip, Shop, & Shoebox! businesses on Nov. 7. A few doors down, the Artisans Village at 110 W. Marion has its own Nov. 7 event, a Beginning Acrylic Painting Class from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a special palette and two substrates supplied. The same gallery hosts the opening market on Nov. 14.
So the short stretch of Marion off the courthouse square is busy both Saturdays, and it gives you a way to link them. You might take the painting class on the 7th, drop a donation at Taylor Flowers afterward and then return on the 14th to see what the gallery has hung for the holiday show.
The rest of the stretch, in order
These two Saturdays fall within a fuller calendar. Here is what Eatonton Main Street and Visit Eatonton list around them:
- Tue., Nov. 3, 7–8:30 p.m. Novelist Katherine Reay speaks at the Georgia Writers Museum.
- Fri., Nov. 6, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Downtown Eatonton Holiday Open House.
- Sat., Nov. 7 Sip, Shop, & Shoebox! downtown. Ron's Run 4K at Rock Eagle 4-H Center is the same afternoon.
- Sun., Nov. 8 The 4-H Fall GOAT for It 4K at Rock Eagle, on paved streets with a hill that Visit Eatonton's listing says organizers describe as one only goats would love. Broadway Sings for OPAS starts at 3 p.m. at The Plaza Arts Center.
- Sat., Nov. 14, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Mistletoe Market on the Courthouse Lawn and the Gifts from the heART opening at the Artisans Village.
- Sat., Nov. 21, 10 a.m.–1 p.m. A basket-weaving class at the Artisans Village, making a 10-inch tobacco-style basket.
- Fri., Nov. 27, 5–8 p.m. Cafe du Papa serves coffee, donuts and beignets at the Downtown Eatonton Farmers Market at the Eatonton City Center Stage.
- Sat., Nov. 28 Small Business Saturday downtown.

- Sat., Dec. 12 Christmas in Eatonton.
Seen together, the calendar shows that Nov. 7 and Nov. 14 are the two days when downtown's shops and makers are all out at once. Everything after them is spread across evenings, classes and single stops.
Downtown Eatonton's calendar follows the same pattern we see in good listings around Putnam County: the location matters, and so does the timing. If you're thinking about how your own place near the square or out toward the lake would show during the holiday season, The Hendrix Group is glad to walk through it with you over coffee at Sylvia's. Schedule a free consultation, and we'll share what we've learned about presenting a home when Eatonton is at its most festive.
